Eightfold AI raises $220 million in a Series E funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, bringing its total raised capital to over $410 million. The new investment doubles the five-year-old startup's valuation to $2.1 billion, up from $1 billion just eight months ago. Existing investors, including General Catalyst, Capital One Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, also participate in the round to support the company's accelerated growth.
The Mountain View-based startup provides a deep learning platform that transforms how companies find, recruit, and retain talent. Instead of traditional job searching, candidates upload their resumes and the system immediately matches them with the most relevant positions, which increases application volume and diversity while reducing drop-off rates. Additionally, employers use the platform internally to help current employees discover promotions and new career paths, a feature that effectively doubles internal mobility for many businesses.
Eightfold AI currently serves clients in over 100 countries and operates its platform in more than a dozen languages. To power its matching capabilities, the startup analyzes a massive array of data points from employer sales and human resources systems, as well as public sources like patent sites and publications. Beyond corporate recruiting, the company also partners with the state of Indiana to help unemployment insurance applicants instantly build resumes and find job opportunities.
