This transition reflects Musk's long-standing vision to turn the platform into an "everything app." CEO Linda Yaccarino states that X focuses on audio, video, messaging, and payments or banking, all powered by artificial intelligence. Additionally, Musk announces that "tweets" will now be called "x's," and he suggests that the concept of retweets needs rethinking.
The letter "X" holds a special place in Musk's business portfolio, appearing in the names of SpaceX and his new AI startup xAI. The corporate transition actually begins back in April when Twitter Inc. changes its name to X Corp. in court filings, marking the early steps of this complete brand overhaul.
