Elon Musk Transforms Twitter Into X to Build 'Everything App'

Twitter officially rebrands as X as Elon Musk pursues his vision of a multifunctional super-app similar to WeChat. The platform now aims to handle comprehensive communications and entire financial transactions for its users.

Twitter officially undergoes a massive rebranding as X, marking a significant shift in the company's identity. The familiar bird logo disappears from the San Francisco headquarters and app stores, replaced by a flashing X as X.com redirects to the former Twitter.com domain.

Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino drive this transformation to turn the platform into an "everything app" similar to China's WeChat. The Twitter name no longer fits the service since users now post long-form content and hours of video instead of simple 140-character tweets.

The newly named X currently supports live audio conversations, long text messages, and video broadcasts from high-profile creators. In the coming months, Musk plans to add comprehensive communications and full financial capabilities to complete his vision for the $44 billion acquisition.
