Facebook Takes Proactive Steps to Shut Down Rule-Breaking Pages

Facebook announces new measures to combat policy violations and fake news by introducing a "Page Quality" tab for Page administrators. This tab shows creators exactly which posts break Community Standards, such as hate speech or graphic violence, and which articles third-party fact-checkers rate as false. It also alerts admins when their content experiences reduced distribution due to these fact-checking ratings.
In addition to increasing transparency, the social network takes a more aggressive approach to repeat offenders. Facebook now proactively bans other Pages and Groups managed by the same people if they attempt to post duplicated violating content. This strategy aims to stop bad actors from simply creating new Pages after their original ones face removal.
The new dashboard does not provide a complete view of every algorithmic penalty a Page receives. It specifically excludes information about spam, intellectual property violations, and clickbait. Instead, Facebook focuses the tool on the most critical issues it currently faces, like misinformation and content tied to real-world harm.
