Paris-based cybersecurity startup Filigran secures $35 million in Series B funding to grow its popular open source threat intelligence platform. The company plans to build a comprehensive threat management suite and launch a collaborative community hub.
Paris-based cybersecurity startup Filigran raises $35 million in a Series B round to expand its open source threat management suite. The funding comes just months after a $16 million Series A round, with Insight Partners leading the new investment and existing backers Accel and Moonfire participating again. A portion of the capital goes toward product development and expanding the company's presence beyond France.
Filigran builds its growing business around OpenCTI, an open source threat intelligence platform that allows organizations to aggregate and enrich data from multiple security providers. The open source version boasts millions of downloads and contributions from 4,300 cybersecurity professionals, attracting major users like the European Commission, the FBI, and the New York City Cyber Command. The startup also offers an enterprise edition as a service or on-premises solution, counting Airbus, Marriott, and Rivian among its clients.
The company leverages this momentum to develop a full-fledged eXtended Threat Management (XTM) suite that currently includes OpenBAS, a breach and attack simulation tool. Filigran plans to launch a third product by 2026 to provide end-to-end threat management solutions. Additionally, the startup draws inspiration from GitHub and Hugging Face to create XTM Hub, a collaborative platform for cybersecurity professionals to share resources and tradecraft, which is slated to launch by the end of the year.
