Five Startups Compete for $100,000 Prize at Virtual Disrupt 2020

TechCrunch hosts an unusual Startup Battlefield competition this week where founders, judges, and the audience connect entirely through WebEx. After 20 startups demonstrate their products and face expert questioning, the judges select five exceptional finalists to advance to the ultimate championship round.
The diverse group of finalists includes Canix, which builds enterprise software for cannabis growers, and Firehawk Aerospace, which uses 3D printing to create advanced hybrid rocket fuel engines. The lineup also features HacWare, a machine learning platform that improves email security for small businesses, and Jefa, a challenger bank designed specifically for women in Latin America.
Rounding out the top five is Matidor, a project management platform that helps energy and environmental consultants track geospatial data in a single dashboard. These five companies present once again to a new panel of judges, who ultimately award one winner a $100,000 equity-free cash prize.
