Formlabs Launches New Resins for Rapid Prototyping and Dental Prosthetics at CES
Formlabs unveils Elastic Resin for flexible prototyping and Digital Denture resin for prosthetics at CES 2019.
Formlabs introduces two new specialized resins at CES 2019 to expand the capabilities of its SLA 3D printers. Elastic Resin serves as the softest material in the company's Engineering Resin lineup, featuring a 50A Shore durometer that allows users to prototype flexible silicone parts that bend, stretch, and compress without tearing.
The second new material is a Digital Denture resin designed specifically to produce highly accurate removable full dentures. Alongside these new material launches, Formlabs showcases custom 3D printed razor handles created through a partnership with Gillette and operates a massive display featuring over 40 Form 2 printers on the show floor.
Formlabs CEO Max Lobovsky notes that 3D printing plays a crucial role in the tech industry, stating that the technology is likely part of the ideation, development, or manufacturing process for over 90 percent of the more than 4,000 CES exhibitors. This impressive showcase follows last year's CES appearance, where Formlabs officially introduced its Fuse 1 SLS system to the market.
