Framework Launches Refurbished Program for Modular Laptops

Repairable laptop maker Framework introduces a new refurbished program offering discounted secondhand laptops and components. The refurbished items come from 30-day returns and receive the same warranty as brand-new products.

Framework expands its commitment to sustainability by launching a new refurbished program for its modular laptops and components. This initiative offers consumers a chance to purchase secondhand items at a discount, furthering the company's mission to reduce electronic waste. The program kicks off in the U.S. and Canada with DIY laptop editions, three Intel processors, and an expansion card pack.

The refurbished inventory comes directly from the small number of 30-day return guarantees the company receives. These returned items undergo an extensive testing and cleaning process at Framework's service center in New Jersey. Any parts that fail to meet the company's strict quality specifications are replaced before the products are listed for sale again.

Despite having service centers in Europe and Australia capable of the same high-quality refurbishment, Framework currently lacks enough returned inventory in those regions to offer the program globally. However, the company plans to add more parts to the refurbished program in the future. All refurbished laptops and modules feature the exact same warranty coverage as brand-new purchases, giving buyers added peace of mind.
