French Streaming Service Molotov Launches Free Educational Video Platform

French streaming service Molotov introduces "Molotov for School," a new section that helps parents find educational TV content for their children during widespread school closures. The feature aggregates educational programming from major French networks like France 4, Arte, TF1, and M6 to create a safe, curated viewing environment appropriate for kids of all ages.
Through a new partnership with SchoolMouv, Molotov offers free access to around 1,000 video lessons covering middle school and high school subjects. While the premium service normally costs up to €30 per month, Molotov users view all SchoolMouv videos for free until May 15 without needing to enter credit card information or access interactive exercises.
The streaming startup also includes a selection of historical and science documentaries to further supplement remote learning. This educational push coincides with a significant milestone for the independent company, as Molotov reports its user base now reaches 10 million registered users, up from 7 million during its previously attempted acquisition by Altice.
