Gemini App Transforms Into Proactive 24/7 AI Agent
Google unveils a major Gemini app overhaul featuring a new agentic assistant called Gemini Spark and a vibrant redesign called Neural Expressive. The update also introduces the Gemini 3.5 Flash model and a personalized Daily Brief feature.
Google unveils a massive overhaul of the Gemini app, transforming it from a simple chatbot into a proactive AI assistant. Serving over 900 million monthly users across 230 countries, the platform introduces Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal agent that proactively manages tasks and navigates users' digital lives under their direct supervision. This shift marks a significant step toward truly agentic AI that acts on behalf of the user rather than just answering questions.
The visual experience receives a complete ground-up reimagining through a new design language called Neural Expressive. This update brings fluid animations, vibrant colors, new typography, and haptic feedback to create a more dynamic interface. Additionally, Google integrates the Gemini Live conversational experience directly into the main app, allowing users to seamlessly switch between typing and free-flowing voice conversations without interruption.
Several new features and models accompany this interface update, including Gemini 3.5 Flash, which combines high-level intelligence with lightning-fast performance. A new Daily Brief agent provides personalized morning summaries to help users start their day, while Gemini Omni allows seamless transformation of text, images, and video prompts into cinematic video outputs. Furthermore, a dedicated MacOS app is launching to integrate Gemini Spark directly onto local machines with powerful new voice capabilities.
