Gemini Live Gains Visual Guidance, App Integrations, and Expressive Speech
Google is upgrading Gemini Live with on-screen visual guidance, deeper integration with Google apps, and more natural voice capabilities.
Google is transforming Gemini Live into a more capable and intuitive assistant by introducing on-screen visual guidance when users share their camera. Instead of just processing what the camera sees in the background, Gemini now highlights and interacts directly with objects on the screen to provide real-time help. This visual feature launches first on the Pixel 10 on August 28 before expanding to other Android and iOS devices in the following weeks.
The updated assistant also connects more deeply with Google's ecosystem, integrating with Calendar, Keep, and Tasks starting today. Users can manage their schedules, notes, and to-do lists seamlessly through natural conversation. Additional support for Messages, Phone, and Maps is arriving soon, making Gemini a central hub for everyday digital tasks.
Furthermore, Google is rolling out a new audio model that makes Gemini Live sound much more expressive and natural. The assistant now features improved intonation and the ability to use various accents, while users gain control over speech speed. These upgrades combine to make Gemini feel less like a robotic tool and more like a conversational companion.
