By utilizing the Snapdragon Ride Platform, GM becomes the first automaker to integrate Qualcomm's advanced 5-nanometer system-on-chips specifically for driver assistance technology.
The hardware setup, roughly the size of two stacked laptops, delivers the processing power of several hundred personal computers. GM pairs this impressive hardware with its proprietary software stack to enable door-to-door hands-free driving across 95 percent of all driving scenarios.
Engineers at GM facilities across the globe develop the system's core capabilities, including perception, planning, and mapping, while tightly integrating cameras, radar, and LiDAR for minimal latency. This compact yet mighty compute system officially debuts in 2023 inside the fully-electric Cadillac CELESTIQ.
