Gmail Adds Strikethrough, Undo, and Redo Buttons to Formatting Bar

Google introduces a strikethrough button, undo/redo options, and .EML file downloads to Gmail's formatting bar. The update rolls out to G Suite users immediately and reaches standard users shortly.

Google updates Gmail with a few highly requested formatting tools, including a dedicated strikethrough button in the composing window. Users now easily cross out text to show edits without relying on external workarounds or HTML tricks.

The update also brings visible undo and redo buttons to the toolbar, which helps users who forget the standard keyboard shortcuts. Additionally, Gmail now allows people to download individual emails as .EML files for offline storage or record-keeping.

These new features currently roll out to all G Suite users and reach this group within the next three days. Standard, free Gmail users expect to see these same formatting options appear in their accounts very soon as well.
