GMC Unveils 400-Mile Electric Sierra Denali to Rival Ford F-150 Lightning

General Motors unveils the all-electric GMC Sierra Denali pickup truck as the latest addition to its growing Ultium platform lineup. Unlike a simple retrofit, the Sierra EV features a purpose-built integrated cab and box construction that shares its underlying technology with the GMC Hummer EV. This new electric truck plays a crucial role in the automaker's strategy to achieve 1 million annual EV sales globally by 2025.
The flagship Denali Edition 1 delivers impressive specifications, including 754 horsepower, 785 pound-feet of torque, and a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. It boasts an estimated driving range of 400 miles and offers up to 9,500 pounds of towing capacity. The truck also features an 800-volt architecture that allows for fast charging, adding roughly 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
GMC launches the Sierra EV with the premium Denali Edition 1 starting at $107,000 in early 2024, with more affordable AT4 and Elevation trims arriving for the 2025 model year starting around $50,000. Additionally, the pickup serves as a mobile power station with up to 10.2 kW of output, capable of powering a home's essential needs for 21 days when paired with GM Energy's bi-directional charging equipment.
