Google Bard Expands Globally With Image Uploads and Chat History
Google Bard rolls out a major July 2023 update, introducing over 40 new languages, image uploads via Google Lens, and chat management features.
Google Bard expands its global reach significantly by adding support for over 40 new languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish. The AI chatbot also extends its availability to all 27 European Union countries and Brazil, bringing its conversational capabilities to a much wider audience. Additionally, Bard introduces text-to-speech functionality in these newly supported languages, allowing users to listen to the AI's responses out loud.
The integration of Google Lens into Bard enables users to upload images alongside text prompts directly in their conversations. This visual enhancement allows for more creative and context-rich interactions. Furthermore, programmers benefit from a streamlined workflow as they can now export Python code directly to Replit, supplementing the existing Google Colab integration.
Google introduces several user interface improvements that make managing conversations much easier. Users can now pin important threads, rename existing chats, and keep multiple conversations open simultaneously. To refine the AI's output, five new modification options let users quickly adjust responses to be simpler, longer, shorter, more professional, or more casual. Users can also easily share their chats with others through generated shareable links or by exporting the content directly to Google Docs.
