Google Brings Gemini AI to Cloud Security Suite at Cloud Next

Google unveils a suite of new generative AI features for its cloud security products at its annual Cloud Next conference. The company injects its Gemini AI models into tools like Threat Intelligence, Chronicle, and Security Command Center to help enterprise security teams manage large, multi-tenant corporate networks more efficiently.

Gemini in Threat Intelligence allows users to search for ongoing threats using natural language and automatically summarizes open source intelligence reports. In Chronicle, the AI guides analysts through investigations, recommends actions, and creates breach detection rules, while Security Command Center users can now search for vulnerabilities and attack paths using conversational prompts.

Beyond AI integrations, Google introduces new tools to control access and mitigate insider risks. The new privileged access manager provides time-bound and approval-based access options, while the principal access boundary feature restricts network root-level users to only authorized resources within a defined perimeter.
