Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides Get Material Design Refresh

Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites receive a Material Design visual refresh on the web.

Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites get a Material Design refresh on the web to improve the overall visual experience. This update brings Google's custom-designed typography, updated controls like buttons and dialogs, and crisp new iconography to these popular productivity tools.

The design refresh does not introduce any functionality changes, meaning users only see visual improvements rather than new features. By adopting this new look, these four products join Gmail and Calendar in sharing a common Material Design language across the G Suite ecosystem.

The rollout begins on January 15, 2019 for Rapid Release domains and follows on February 11, 2019 for Scheduled Release domains. This visual update is available to all G Suite editions, ensuring a consistent and modern interface for all users.
