Google Gemini Gains Video Generation and Presentation Tools in Latest Update
Google's latest Gemini update introduces Veo 3.1 video creation and automatic presentation generation in Canvas. The upgrade also brings improved LaTeX rendering and new voice assistant features for Google TV.
Google releases a major update to its Gemini app, introducing the powerful Veo 3.1 model for advanced video generation. Users can now create videos with realistic textures, simple camera controls, and integrated dialogue with sound effects. Additionally, Gemini 2.5 Flash receives upgrades that provide better step-by-step guidance for complex topics, improved image understanding for diagrams, and more organized overall responses.
The new Canvas feature transforms how users build presentations by automatically generating a full set of themed slides from a simple prompt or uploaded document. People can easily export these completed drafts directly to Google Slides for final edits. Furthermore, Google significantly improves LaTeX rendering on the web, allowing users to copy mathematical formulas, edit them inside Canvas, and download them as polished PDFs.
Gemini also expands its capabilities into the living room as a conversational voice assistant for Google TV. Viewers can ask the AI for personalized television show and movie recommendations. The assistant even answers general knowledge questions by pulling up relevant YouTube videos directly on the screen.
