Google unveils its Pixel 3 and 3XL smartphones to compete directly with Apple's iPhone, highlighting AI-powered assistants and enhanced camera capabilities. The new devices come with an exclusive deal that features Marvel Studios characters in augmented reality selfies. Buyers also receive unlimited photo storage and an optional wireless charger to improve the user experience.
The Pixel 3 features a 5.5-inch screen, while the larger 3XL boasts a 6.3-inch display with a top notch to maximize screen surface area. Both Android phones offer slight size upgrades over the previous generation. The base Pixel 3 starts at $799 and the 3XL starts at $899, with both models including 64 GB of internal storage.
To incentivize early adoption, Google includes a six-month free subscription to YouTube Music Premium for customers who purchase either phone before the end of the year. The internet giant makes this announcement at its Made by Google 2018 event in New York. This product launch follows weeks of extensive online leaks about the smartphone lineup prior to the official reveal.
