Google introduces Assistant with Bard, a new version of its mobile personal assistant powered by generative AI. The upgraded helper handles traditional requests like setting alarms or checking the weather while also providing intelligent responses powered by Google’s Bard AI technology.
The integration allows the assistant to dive into users' personal Google apps, including Gmail and Drive, to deliver customized answers. People can ask the assistant to catch them up on missed emails, plan trips, create grocery lists, or write social media captions, though users must opt in and grant permission for Bard to access this private data.
Because Bard now lives directly on mobile devices, users interact with it through voice, camera, and text inputs. Google currently releases Assistant with Bard as an experiment to study user behavior before a broader public launch across Android and iOS platforms.
