Google Prepares to Unveil Pixel 8 Series and Pixel Watch 2 in NYC

Google is gearing up to reveal its latest smartphones and smartwatch at a highly anticipated event in New York City. The Pixel 8 lineup and Pixel Watch 2 promise significant internal upgrades and new AI features.

Google hosts a major hardware event in New York City to officially unveil the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These updated flagship smartphones feature redesigned hardware, significantly brighter "Actua" displays, and advanced camera systems driven by artificial intelligence. The devices draw power from the new Tensor G3 chipset, which promises better efficiency, cooler operating temperatures, and UFS 4.0 storage.

Rumors indicate that the Pixel 8 series brings a massive software commitment with up to seven years of Android updates. Other notable leaks point to a slight price increase for the US market, a retained physical SIM slot on the Pro model, and the addition of Night Sight capabilities for video recording. In-store availability reportedly begins on October 12.

Beyond the smartphones, Google also introduces the Pixel Watch 2 at the same event. While the smartwatch retains the exact same exterior design as its predecessor, it receives substantial internal upgrades such as a new Snapdragon W5 chipset, two gigabytes of RAM, and Wear OS 4. These hardware improvements combine with new health sensors to enable additional Fitbit features like stress tracking and deliver much-needed battery life enhancements.
