Google Releases Gemini Pro Model for Enterprise and Developer Integration

Google launches Gemini Pro, giving developers and enterprises access to its advanced multimodal AI model through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. The release includes a text-only version and a vision model capable of processing images and video.

Google releases Gemini Pro, its most capable generative artificial intelligence model to date, for developers and enterprises to build custom applications. This release provides access to sophisticated reasoning capabilities and native multimodal understanding that encompasses text, code, audio, images, and video across 180 countries and 38 languages.

Developers access the model through Google AI Studio, a free web-based tool that provides a quick starting point with a free quota of up to 60 requests per minute. The rollout includes two specific versions of Gemini Pro: a text-only model with a 32,000-token context window, and Gemini Pro Vision, which accepts imagery and video alongside text inputs to generate text outputs.

Once developers finalize their prompts and test their applications in AI Studio, they easily export their work via an API key to Vertex AI or another preferred development environment for further customization. For example, real estate applications use Gemini Pro Vision to analyze interior photos of a home and automatically generate comprehensive written property listings.
