Google Search AI Mode Gains Agentic Booking Features and Global Expansion

Google Search's AI Mode now includes agentic capabilities that handle tasks like finding restaurant reservations based on complex preferences. The feature is also expanding to over 180 new countries and territories in English.

Google Search introduces new agentic capabilities to its AI Mode, allowing the system to handle complex tasks directly on behalf of users. The initial rollout focuses on finding restaurant reservations that meet specific constraints such as party size, date, time, location, and cuisine preferences. By searching across multiple reservation platforms and websites, AI Mode presents a curated list of available options and links users directly to the booking page to finalize their plans.

This new functionality relies on the live web browsing capabilities of Project Mariner, direct partner integrations, and the combined power of the Google Knowledge Graph and Google Maps. Currently, Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. can access these agentic features through an experiment in Google Labs. The company plans to expand these capabilities soon to include booking local service appointments and securing event tickets.

In addition to these new actions, AI Mode is significantly broadening its global footprint. The feature expands to over 180 new countries and territories, making the complex, AI-powered search experience available to a much larger international audience in English. This global push ensures that more people can rely on AI Mode to ask complex questions and receive personalized, actionable information tailored to their interests.
