Google Unveils New Assistant Features at CES 2020

Google returns to CES 2020 with a massive two-story booth and a heavy focus on Google Assistant. While the company skips the elaborate amusement park rides of previous years, it introduces several practical features for its voice-powered AI helper. The overarching theme involves making the Assistant more helpful for everyday household tasks and communication.
One major addition is the ability for Android users to ask Google Assistant to read web articles aloud using advanced neural networks. The Assistant smartly ignores navigation menus and buttons to focus only on the relevant text. Additionally, users can now issue one-off scheduled commands, such as asking the AI to turn on the lights at a specific time later in the day.
Google also brings analog concepts to smart displays with new sticky notes and speed dial features. Family members can leave digital notes on the lock screen for everyone to see or pin important phone numbers for guests to call with a single tap. Furthermore, Google expands its Interpreter Mode to more real-world businesses, with American Airlines, HSBC, and various hotels adopting the real-time translation tool.
