Google Unveils Pixel 9 Lineup With Deep Gemini AI Integration

Google introduces the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold, featuring the custom Tensor G4 chip and deep Gemini AI integration. The new devices boast redesigned builds, brighter displays, and advanced camera features.

Google expands its Pixel smartphone lineup with the launch of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. For the first time, the Pro model is available in two sizes, offering 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch displays, while the foldable device unfolds into a large 8-inch screen. All new models feature a redesigned, centered rear camera bar, a matte glass back, and improved durability that is twice as strong as the previous generation.

The new devices run on the custom-built Google Tensor G4 processor, which is designed specifically to power advanced AI features like Gemini. Google increases the RAM to 12GB for the standard Pixel 9 and 16GB for the Pro models to handle these demanding tasks. Additionally, the smartphones use brighter "Super Actua" OLED displays and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with the Fold model being 80 percent brighter than its predecessor.

Gemini serves as the deeply integrated AI assistant across the entire Pixel 9 series, with Pro models supporting Gemini Live for free-flowing voice conversations. New software capabilities include Pixel Studio, an on-device image generator for creating stickers from text prompts, and an Add Me camera feature that uses augmented reality to include the photographer in group shots. Alongside the smartphones, Google releases the Pixel Watch 3 and the Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds.
