Google launches Gems, custom AI experts that allow Workspace users to tailor Gemini to specific tasks and workflows. The feature aims to reduce repetitive prompting and boost productivity across various business and educational needs.
Google rolls out Gems, a new feature that allows Google Workspace users to create custom AI experts within Gemini. Users simply describe their desired task and response style, and the Gem remembers these instructions to handle specific goals and workflows. This tool minimizes repetitive prompting by saving custom configurations for future use.
The update includes Premade Gems that serve as ready-made templates for common roles like a writing editor, coding partner, and learning coach. Users leverage these custom AI assistants to gather targeted audience feedback, streamline copy editing, scale marketing materials, track industry trends, and elevate educational lesson plans.
Gems are now available to Google Workspace customers who have a Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-on. The feature operates by default within the Gemini web interface and supports all languages that the platform currently offers.
