Unlike its competitors, this device folds outward to transform seamlessly from a standard smartphone into a larger tablet, positioning itself as one of the fastest 5G folding phones available.
The device features a 6.6-inch main display and a 6.38-inch rear screen that merge into a single 8-inch panel when unfolded. This outward-folding design utilizes a mechanical "Falcon Wing" hinge and results in a remarkably slim 11mm profile when closed, making it significantly thinner than the 17mm Samsung Galaxy Fold.
Powering the Mate X is a robust 4,500mAh battery split across two cells, which surpasses the capacity of its main rival. Huawei equips the phone with fast SuperCharge technology that promises an 85 percent charge in just 30 minutes, alongside a vertical camera bar on the back that houses a triple Leica lens setup.
