Humane Unveils $700 Screenless AI Pin With Laser Projector
Former Apple executives introduce the Ai Pin, a $700 standalone wearable that replaces traditional apps and screens with a AI-driven laser projector and voice interface.
Humane officially unveils the Ai Pin, a $700 standalone wearable device built entirely around artificial intelligence. Designed by former Apple executives Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, the screenless gadget attaches magnetically to clothing and uses a detachable battery pack to create a "perpetual power system." The device features a Gorilla Glass touchpad, a 13-megapixel camera, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip to process AI tasks locally.
Instead of a standard screen, the Ai Pin projects a "Laser Ink Display" directly onto the user's hand. Wearers interact with this projected interface by tilting or rolling their hand, and they select items with a simple finger tap similar to the Apple Watch double tap. All functions activate through voice commands via the "Ai Mic," eliminating the need for traditional apps entirely.
The device includes several unique hardware features, such as a "Personic Speaker" that creates a private bubble of sound and a real-time language interpreter. Users can also point the camera at food items to get immediate nutritional information or track their daily health and activity goals. Captured photos, notes, and other data sync to a web-based hub called Center, which is accessible through any standard web browser.
