Hypatos Raises $11.8M to Bring Deep Learning to Document Processing
Germany-based Hypatos secures $11.8 million in seed funding to expand its deep learning-powered document processing platform. The startup aims to outperform traditional robotic process automation by offering smarter, context-aware financial automation.
Process automation startup Hypatos raises $11.8 million in seed funding from investors including Blackfin Tech, Grazia Equity, UVC Partners, and Plug & Play Ventures. The Germany and Poland-based company applies deep learning technology to power back-office automation for industries with heavy financial document processing needs, such as the financial and insurance sectors.
Hypatos utilizes language processing AI and computer vision to speed up financial document processing for tasks like invoice management, loan validation, and insurance claims. The company relies on a massive training dataset of over 10 million annotated data entities to provide an "in-depth understanding" of document content, which it calls cognitive process automation (CPA).
This funding supports research and development to expand its portfolio of AI models for additional document types and fuels growth in Europe, North America, and Asia. Hypatos currently serves Fortune 500 companies, major accounting firms, and over 300 software companies with APIs and machine learning modules that integrate directly into existing enterprise systems.
