IBM Launches Watsonx Platform to Scale Enterprise AI and Foundation Models
IBM introduces watsonx, a comprehensive AI and data platform designed to help businesses train, tune, and deploy foundation models with trusted data and governance.
IBM unveils watsonx, a new AI and data platform that enables enterprises to scale and accelerate the impact of advanced AI using trusted data. The platform provides a full technology stack that allows businesses to train, tune, and deploy foundation models and machine learning capabilities across their organizations. By combining these tools in one place, watsonx runs across any cloud environment to meet the growing demands of modern enterprise AI deployment.
The watsonx platform consists of three core components: an AI development studio, a specialized data store, and a strict governance toolkit. The studio offers access to IBM-curated foundation models alongside open-source models, while the data store helps users gather and cleanse training data. Additionally, a new partnership with Hugging Face brings top open-source AI models directly to the enterprise within the watsonx ecosystem.
Beyond the core platform, IBM expands its AI offerings with new watson-powered products for code, AIOps, digital labor, security, and sustainability. The company also announces a GPU-as-a-service infrastructure offering for AI-intensive workloads and establishes an IBM Consulting Center of Excellence. This consulting practice features over 1,000 AI experts who help clients implement generative AI and achieve business transformation with enterprise-grade solutions.
