IBM Unveils Watsonx Platform to Accelerate Enterprise AI Adoption
IBM introduces Watsonx, a comprehensive AI and machine learning platform designed to help businesses train, tune, and deploy foundation models. The new suite combines pre-trained models, data storage, and governance tools into a single technology stack.
IBM launches Watsonx, a comprehensive technology stack designed to help enterprises train, tune, and deploy artificial intelligence models. The suite combines machine learning tools, data storage, and consulting services into a single platform that prioritizes strict data governance controls alongside advanced AI capabilities.
The platform consists of three distinct product offerings: Watsonx.ai, Watsonx.data, and Watsonx.governance. Watsonx.ai stands out as the core component, providing access to IBM-curated foundation models and an extensive library of open-source models through a partnership with Hugging Face to streamline the customization process.
When Watsonx.ai launches in July, it features specialized models such as fm.code for generating code and automating IT tasks, fm.NLP for industry-specific natural language processing, and fm.geospatial for weather-related planning. IBM CEO Arvind Krishna asserts that these foundation models make deploying AI significantly more scalable, affordable, and efficient for clients across their entire businesses.
