IBM Watson Health Launches AI Orchestrator to Streamline Medical Imaging

IBM Watson Health unveils a new cloud-based AI orchestration platform to help medical imaging organizations seamlessly integrate multiple AI applications. The offering aims to simplify IT management and improve the radiologist reading experience.

IBM Watson Health introduces a new cloud-based service called IBM Imaging AI Orchestrator to help medical imaging organizations integrate multiple AI applications seamlessly. By providing scalable access to vetted, regulatory-cleared algorithms from leading providers, the platform ensures that radiologists receive consolidated AI insights directly within their picture archiving and communication systems.

The new offering significantly reduces the burden on IT departments by outsourcing the complex management of diverse AI applications to IBM. Instead of navigating the unique deployment requirements of each individual algorithm, healthcare facilities rely on this single orchestrated hub to handle data security, privacy standards, and interoperability challenges.

In addition to the AI Orchestrator, IBM launches IBM Imaging Workflow Orchestrator with Watson to modernize the overall radiologist reading experience. Both solutions debut at the RSNA 2021 Annual Meeting, addressing the urgent industry need to manage the rapid proliferation of approved medical algorithms amid ongoing staffing shortages.
