Because Fragomen processes Form I-9 files, the compromised data potentially includes highly sensitive government documents like passports, driver’s licenses, and ID cards. These documents make the firm a prime target for hackers and identity thieves. Fragomen files a notice with the California attorney general’s office, which is required for breaches impacting more than 500 state residents.
