Indian startup Neysa raises $30 million to compete with global AI hyperscalers as demand for artificial intelligence grows rapidly in the country. With India's AI market projected to reach $17 billion by 2027, the Mumbai-based company provides AI and machine learning infrastructure as a service to local and multinational businesses. The startup offers tailored solutions that include dedicated machine learning operations and infrastructure consulting teams to help enterprise customers size their systems and customize their models.
Former Netmagic CEO Sharad Sanghi co-founds Neysa in 2023 after spending over 27 years at his previous data center venture. He starts the company with a vision to provide comprehensive infrastructure, platform, and inference services alongside developer tools. Neysa launches its flagship platform, Velocis, in July to deliver on-demand access to computing infrastructure, and it plans to release a developer platform and inference as a service before the end of the year.
The startup directly challenges established cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, as well as newer contenders like CoreWeave and Lambda Labs. Neysa differentiates itself from these massive competitors by emphasizing flexibility in its models and offering both public cloud options. Additionally, the company is actively developing observability tools for better infrastructure management and enhanced security features specifically designed for AI workloads.
