Inflection AI Upgrades Pi Chatbot With GPT-4 Rival Model
Inflection AI launches Inflection-2.5, a powerful new language model that nearly matches GPT-4's performance while using significantly less computing power. The upgrade comes as the company's Pi chatbot reaches one million daily active users.
Inflection AI switches its Pi chatbot to a new large language model called Inflection-2.5, which nearly matches the capabilities of GPT-4 across several key benchmarks. The company trains this upgraded model using ten times more processing power than its first-generation system, yet it still utilizes only a fraction of the computing resources that OpenAI requires for GPT-4.
The new model delivers significant improvements in both math and coding tasks, more than doubling the score of its predecessor in mathematical evaluations. Across a series of difficult benchmarks designed to challenge artificial intelligence, Inflection-2.5 achieves average performance that trails GPT-4 by less than 6%.
Alongside this technical upgrade, Inflection AI reports that Pi currently boasts one million daily active users and experiences a 10% weekly growth rate. The company notes that users spend an average of 33 minutes per chat session, and it plans to monetize this highly engaged audience through a paid subscription model.
