Intel and AMD officially suspend all chip sales to Russia and Belarus in swift response to US government export restrictions. Although the new sanctions primarily target military and dual-use technologies, both processor giants confirm a complete halt of shipments to the region.
TSMC also participates in the sanctions, a move that effectively thwarts Russia's ability to manufacture its own homegrown chips. By cutting off access to this critical foundry service, the global semiconductor industry deals a severe blow to Russia's domestic tech ambitions.
The US Department of Commerce adds 49 Russian companies to the Entity List as other major tech firms like Samsung, Micron, and SK hynix prepare for widespread temporary suspensions. Nvidia has not yet commented on the situation, but the entire semiconductor supply chain rapidly aligns with the new regulatory measures.
