Intel Capital President Wendell Brooks Resigns After Five Years

Wendell Brooks steps down from his role leading Intel's investment arm after a five-year tenure. Anthony Lin takes over as interim president while the company searches for a permanent replacement.

Wendell Brooks resigns as president of Intel Capital to pursue other opportunities, ending a five-year run at the helm of the chip giant's investment arm. A company spokesperson confirms the departure with a brief statement that thanks Brooks for his contributions. Anthony Lin, who currently leads mergers and acquisitions and international investing, steps in as the interim president.

Brooks takes over the top role in 2015 after Arvind Sodhani runs the division for 28 years, and he approaches the job with a clear philosophy of leading investment rounds rather than acting as a passive investor. He believes that taking a lead position allows Intel Capital to influence a startup's business thesis, technology direction, and route to market while securing valuable board seats.

During his tenure, Brooks oversees significant investment activity, including $225 million deployed so far this year across 11 new deals and 26 follow-on investments. Intel Capital boasts a massive historical footprint of $12.9 billion invested in over 1,500 companies, with 692 of those firms successfully exiting through an IPO or acquisition.
