South Korean manufacturers lead the 5G smartphone charge by unveiling their earliest compatible devices. LG Electronics displays its V50 ThinQ 5G, while Samsung demonstrates its Galaxy S10 5G and even live broadcasts the event using a prototype 5G network. Huawei also joins the competition by revealing its own first 5G smartphone ahead of the official exhibition.
Beyond mobile devices, South Korean telecom giants like SK Telecom, Korea Telecom, and LG U+ introduce platforms that leverage hyper-speed and low-latency networks. These innovative applications include smart factories, unmanned blimps, and futuristic hotel services. Approximately 222 South Korean firms invest a combined $89 million to present these advancements alongside global tech leaders like Verizon, Microsoft, and Nokia.
