Leaker Confirms October 13 iPhone 12 Event Date
A prominent leaker backs up earlier rumors that Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 12 lineup on October 13. Standard models arrive later that month while Pro models face a November delay.
Prolific leaker Jon Prosser confirms that Apple unveils the "iPhone 12" lineup at a special event on October 13. This date aligns perfectly with earlier rumors and indicates that pre-orders open just a few days later on October 16. The standard "iPhone 12 mini" and "iPhone 12 Max" hit store shelves on October 23.
Although Apple shows off the entire lineup at this event, the "iPhone 12 Pro" and "iPhone 12 Pro Max" do not launch until November. This staggered release stems from the complex manufacturing requirements of the Pro models, including the addition of a LiDAR scanner. Apple utilizes this same two-wave release strategy for previous iPhone generations.
This October gathering marks the second fall event Apple holds in 2020, following the September "Time Flies" presentation. After introducing the new iPhones, Apple plans to host a third event to reveal its first Mac computers powered by custom Apple Silicon processors.
