Lightricks Brings AI Image Generation to Photoleap and Motionleap Apps
The company behind Facetune launches a new text-to-image generator powered by Stable Diffusion, allowing users to create and edit AI art directly on their phones.
Lightricks, the company best known for the popular selfie-editing app Facetune, releases a new text-to-image generator across its mobile applications. Users access this feature primarily in Photoleap and Motionleap, where they type descriptive text prompts to produce unique pictures instantly. The tool represents a major step for the company as it moves beyond simple photo retouching into the realm of artificial intelligence-driven art creation.
The new feature relies on open-source code from Stable Diffusion, an AI system similar to DALL-E 2. To generate an image, users simply tap the "Generate AI Image" button and type their desired visual description, or they choose from a selection of pre-written prompts. Once the AI produces the initial image, individuals immediately apply the apps' existing editing and animation tools to refine their creations further.
This launch places Lightricks alongside other tech platforms that embrace the AI-generated art trend, similar to a recent basic AI image generator introduced on TikTok. By combining image generation with robust editing capabilities like layering, filters, and 3D motion tools, Lightricks provides a comprehensive creative suite. The integration allows everyday smartphone users to experiment with advanced AI artistry without needing any specialized technical skills.
