Lightricks introduces a new AI text-to-image generator to its popular Photoleap and Motionleap mobile apps, allowing users to create art simply by typing text prompts. The tool uses the open-source Stable Diffusion model to process words and conjure unique pictures in under a minute. Once the image generates, users can immediately edit or animate the result using the standard toolset found within the apps.
This new feature gives the combined 170 million users of Photoleap and Motionleap a chance to experiment with synthetic media without leaving their mobile devices. Anyone can type a custom prompt or use a suggested idea, though the system includes filters to keep the output at an approximately PG rating. Users retain full ownership of the images they create, and while anyone can generate pictures for free, a Pro membership unlocks high-resolution downloads.
The launch reflects a rapidly growing trend in the tech industry as companies race to integrate text-to-image generation into consumer products. Following the success of DALL-E 2, major platforms like Nvidia and TikTok are similarly embedding AI image creators into their own ecosystems. Lightricks executives view this integration as a way to democratize content creation and provide limitless creative possibilities for a new generation of mobile users.
