Lime Co-Founder Brad Bao Takes CEO Reins as Toby Sun Shifts Roles

Scooter-sharing giant Lime undergoes a major leadership change as co-founder Brad Bao replaces Toby Sun as CEO. Sun transitions to focus on company culture and research and development.

Lime announces a major executive shuffle as co-founder Toby Sun steps down from the CEO position to focus on company culture and research and development. Co-founder Brad Bao, a former Tencent executive, assumes the top leadership role to guide the scooter and bike-sharing company through its next phase of global growth.

The San Francisco-based startup, valued at $2.4 billion, also promotes chief operating officer Joe Kraus to the role of president. Bao brings significant operational experience from his tenure as a vice president in Tencent's gaming division, making him a natural fit to lead the rapidly expanding micro-mobility business.

Lime currently operates in more than 100 U.S. cities and 27 international markets, with riders having completed over 50 million trips on its fleet. The leadership transition occurs as the heavily funded startup prepares to hit the fundraising circuit to secure additional capital.
