LinkedIn Co-Founder Reid Hoffman Launches New AI Venture Inflection

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman team up to launch Inflection AI, a Silicon Valley startup focused on simplifying human-computer communication.

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman launch a new artificial intelligence startup called Inflection AI. Suleyman acts as the CEO of the Silicon Valley-based company, while former DeepMind researcher Karén Simonyan also joins the founding team. This marks Hoffman's first time co-founding a company since he sells LinkedIn to Microsoft in 2016, and it represents Suleyman's first new venture since selling DeepMind to Google in 2014.

Inflection AI focuses on developing software products that make it easier for humans to communicate directly with computers. Suleyman explains that current computing requires people to simplify their ideas into search queries or learn programming languages to control machines. The new company aims to eliminate these barriers by creating AI tools that understand human instructions more naturally and intuitively.

The announcement comes just weeks after Suleyman leaves his vice president role at Google to work alongside Hoffman at the venture capital firm Greylock Partners. The two entrepreneurs share a long history, and Hoffman praises Suleyman as a pioneer at the forefront of exciting advances in artificial intelligence. Together, they build Inflection to harness what Hoffman calls one of the most transformative technologies of our time.
