Lunchclub Raises $4M to Build AI-Powered Professional Matchmaker
Lunchclub secures a $4 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz to revolutionize professional networking through highly targeted, AI-driven warm introductions.
Lunchclub raises a $4 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz to build an AI-powered service that replaces awkward networking with targeted warm introductions. The startup aims to solve the persistent problems of professional networking platforms like LinkedIn by focusing on specific, goal-oriented one-on-one meetings rather than broad social feeds.
Users onboard by selecting clear professional objectives, such as raising funding, finding a co-founder, exploring new companies, or investing. The system automatically pairs complementary goals, ensuring that a user looking to raise money connects directly with someone looking to invest, which creates immediate value for both parties.
Rather than forcing users to manually build out extensive profiles, Lunchclub gathers public data from sources like Twitter, GitHub, and AngelList to inform its matching algorithm. The web app currently operates via a waitlist in seven major cities, including San Francisco, New York, and London, and relies on continuous user feedback to refine its machine learning capabilities.
