Marvel Expands Disney+ Roster with She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel

Marvel head Kevin Feige unveils three new original series for Disney+, featuring diverse characters like a shape-shifting Muslim teen and a mercenary with mystical Egyptian powers.

Marvel head Kevin Feige expands the Disney+ lineup by introducing three new original series: She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel follows Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey who possesses shape-shifting abilities, while Moon Knight centers on Marc Spector, a mercenary who gains mystical powers after a near-death experience in the Egyptian desert. She-Hulk focuses on Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner, who transforms into a Hulk after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her relative.

Beyond the new character announcements, Feige reveals exciting returning faces for other upcoming Disney+ shows. The WandaVision series features a unique blend of classic sitcom and Marvel epic storytelling, bringing back beloved characters like Darcy Lewis and Agent Wu. Additionally, Emily Van Camp returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Sharon Carter to make an appearance in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series.

This massive expansion of the Marvel universe highlights Disney's deep bench of intellectual property designed to attract subscribers to its streaming platform. By introducing these new heroes, Disney effectively softens the blow of losing its Netflix-licensed characters like Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Furthermore, the inclusion of leading female heroes like She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel builds directly on the monumental box office success of Captain Marvel.
