Zuckerberg taps three key executives to spearhead this massive project. Santosh Janardhan, Meta's head of global infrastructure, leads the technical architecture and datacenter operations, while Daniel Gross, co-founder of Safe Superintelligence, directs long-term capacity strategy and supplier partnerships.
Dina Powell McCormick, Meta's recently appointed president and vice chairman, takes charge of working with governments to help finance and deploy the new infrastructure. This bold move highlights the fierce industry race to build generative AI-ready cloud environments, mirroring similar heavy capital expenditure ambitions from tech peers like Microsoft.
