Meta Unveils Redesigned Ray-Ban Smart Glasses With Better Audio and Camera

Meta and EssilorLuxottica reveal the next-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, featuring a 12MP camera and improved audio for $299. The wearable device hits stores on October 17.

Meta and EssilorLuxottica introduce the next-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses at Meta Connect. The companies completely redesign the wearable from the ground up, improving upon the core features of the first generation while introducing entirely new capabilities. The smart glasses start at $299 USD and are available for pre-order now ahead of their retail launch on October 17.

The new glasses feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera that captures high-quality photos and 1080p video up to 60 seconds. This upgraded camera allows users to easily share their unique point of view without reaching for a smartphone. Additionally, a newly designed five-microphone array records immersive spatial audio, capturing sounds from all directions exactly as the user experiences them in the moment.

Audio quality also sees a significant upgrade with custom-designed speakers that deliver extended bass and higher maximum volume. These new speakers provide improved directional audio that reduces sound leakage, making calls, music, and podcasts sound better even in noisy or windy environments. Meta bases these enhancements on community feedback, ensuring the device maintains its classic style while offering vastly improved comfort and hands-free convenience.
