Microsoft releases preview versions of its new Bing and Edge apps for iPhone and Android, giving mobile users direct access to its AI chatbot. In the Bing mobile app, users tap the Bing icon to start a chat session where they ask questions via text or voice. The AI provides answers in bullet points, simplified responses, or traditional text formats.
The tech giant also brings AI-powered Bing to Skype, allowing users to add the chatbot directly into group conversations. Once added, Bing answers questions for the entire group, offering suggestions on travel, weather updates, or details about recent events. This Skype integration is currently available as a worldwide preview.
These mobile and Skype expansions follow the initial desktop launch of the AI-powered Bing earlier in February. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella describes the integration of artificial intelligence into search as the most significant development for the company since the emergence of cloud computing. The desktop version currently operates as a limited preview with a set number of queries per user.
