Microsoft Build 2022 Unveils Express Design and Power Pages
Microsoft Build 2022 delivers major announcements across Windows, AI, and the Power Platform. The standout updates include the image-to-app Express Design feature and the rebranding of Portals to Power Pages.
Microsoft holds its annual Build developer conference this week and reveals a wide array of technology updates. Keynotes and the official Book of News highlight major shifts like Project Voltara, which brings Windows to Arm architecture to boost AI workloads, alongside new cloud-based Dev Box workstations and collaborative MS Teams enhancements through Live Share.
The Power Platform takes center stage during the event, particularly with the introduction of Express Design. This innovative feature allows users to upload hand-drawn pictures of forms, which the system automatically detects and converts into functional applications in seconds to simplify the design process for beginners.
Another significant announcement is the launch of Power Pages, which effectively rebrands Power Apps Portals into its own standalone product. This promotion elevates Portals to become the fifth official product in the Power Platform family, joining Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Virtual Agents to increase its visibility across the wider developer community.
