The tech giant reports an operating income of $31.7 billion and a net income of $24.1 billion, highlighting significant profitability alongside its top-line growth. CEO Satya Nadella attributes this success to continuous innovation across the company's technology stack and a focus on helping customers realize the return on investment of artificial intelligence.

The company's AI business experiences explosive growth, surpassing an annual revenue run rate of $13 billion after jumping 175% year-over-year. Microsoft Cloud revenue also shows impressive momentum, generating $40.9 billion for the quarter, which represents a 21% increase. Within the cloud division, Azure and other cloud services drive a 21% boost in server products and cloud services revenue with a 31% growth rate.

Other major business segments perform well, with Productivity and Business Processes revenue climbing 14% to $29.4 billion thanks to strong gains in Microsoft 365 Commercial and Dynamics 365. The More Personal Computing segment remains relatively flat at $14.7 billion, though search and news advertising revenue excluding traffic acquisition costs jumps 21%. Microsoft also returns $9.7 billion to shareholders during the quarter while maintaining its commitment to investing in cloud and AI infrastructure.
